The Pan American Adventure raised funds in aid of Cancer Research UK, the largest independent cancer research charity in the world.
During their preparation year before the journey, Norman and Maggie toured the UK with their bikes to help raise awareness of the work of Cancer Research UK and to collect donations at a number of shows and events up and down the country. All the money collected was donated to Cancer Research UK, with the request that it was spent on research into curing and preventing cancer.
Via their JustGiving page, the Pan American Adventure raised a total of £8,386 in direct donations. As well as this, Norman’s employer selected Cancer Research UK as its corporate charity in 2004.
In July 2011, Norman and Maggie presented a further cheque for £500 to Cancer Research UK, which represented funds raised from book sales to friends, family, and the BMF Rally.
Norman and Maggie would like to give their heartfelt thanks for the generosity of everyone who helped them support Cancer Research UK before, during, and after the Pan American Adventure.
If you would like to make a donation to support their urgent and invaluable work, please visit the Cancer Research UK website and give whatever you can.
